Abstract

This review article deals with the benefits of Augmented Reality in learning, the pedagogical models that best fit this type of technology, which, together with the new role that the teacher must assume, guide the student in his or her interaction with the new reality created digitally in order to achieve the learning results proposed by the teacher. An exploratory review was carried out, of different scientific productions that allow to sustain the educational utility of Augmented Reality under the constructivist, connective and ubiquitous pedagogical models together with the need of the teacher's contribution exercising his new role in the classroom. Research was carried out using the Netnographic technique, thus involving the interrelation of on-line and off-line research techniques. It was concluded that the main characteristic of Augmented Reality as a resource within the classroom is the ability to generate global learning within a mixed environment achieving significant interaction between the student and information, establishing the constructivist, ubiquitous and connectivist pedagogical models as the most appropriate since the student becomes an important actor in their learning, and the teacher redefines his role to meet the educational needs of the student.
