Reading process as a formator of citizens: some appreciations as Andres Bello

Abstract
The work of Andres Bello, as a representative educator of generations, has been characterized by having a special validity and permanency to the development and understanding of educational thought in general and, especially, in all that represents the process of forming a citizen endowed with a number of capabilities that enable him to act patriotically under the responsibility and autonomy, as exigencies to meet the social demands of his time. All this carried to the current plane, intends to demonstrate that the work of Bello comes to position that the functions of any education system and new trends in academic literacy also intend to form citizens with a critical and reflective thinking as fundamental conditions to act coherently within democratic scenarios, aspects that clearly reflects the correspondence of the contributions of Bello with the exigencies of the academic reading as a new way to face the educational and social world with the launching of creative skills, with a critical spirit, new knowledge and ideas, as well as the possibilities to judge their actions and from third parties.
