Educational innovations under way: “posgrados con la industria” in Mexico
Main Article Content
Abstract
We present some of the results obtained from an exploratory study carried out with the purpose of learning the foundations and effects of an educational model promoted in Mexico by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), called "posgradoscon la industria". We review the contents of the documents that justify the implementation of this educational proposal, taking into account the concepts of innovation and quality upon which it is built. We then analyze information obtained from the System of Consultations of the National Program of Quality Postgraduate Programs (PNPC) of CONACYT, as well as the electronic portals of the Higher Education Institutions (IES) that offer the 39 postgraduate courses currently registered for the area of Engineering. In the conclusions, we affirm that the offer of studies under this educational model has been limited, which makes it is difficult to evaluate the reach to which this offer could strengthen the economic capacities of the country. We end by exposing some questions that allows us to deepen into the research.
